The hotel is known as The Caledonian, a first Astoria Waldorf Astoria Waldorf Hotel in Scotland is to open next year after a review of a landmark hotel in Edinburgh. The Caledonian Hilton Edinburgh is back to being listed as a Waldorf Astoria hotel in conducting a program of investment of 24 million pounds – for conversion to finish the summer of 2012
The Hilton Caledonian hotel Edinburgh was built in 1903 and is made out of Old Red Sandstone from the Scottish Borders.
The entry is at the northern end facing the west end of Princes Street. Along the Lothian Road facade are a series of gables and the narrow entry facade is formed from one huge decorated gable. There is a swimming pool, beauty rooms and a spa pool. Hilton Edinburgh is served by the Pompadour restaurant.
