The school was founded in 2005 to promote an innovative approach based on practice management that will address the new conditions in Russia and elsewhere. Intended to be independent of the methodologies taught in other institutions, Adjaye Associates were commissioned to design a building that represents their aspirations. Due to its peripheral location, most visitors arrive by car, per day by the end of the day, the school will operate as an independent community. This condition is higher in the winter months when the weather is cold and unpleasant. For this reason, the main elements of the School have been together as a single entity in which a number of facilities are easily accessible without going outside.

Besides teaching and administrative staff, the School will involve students taking courses in progress, which will remain in the long-term accommodation, and people in short courses or attend lectures, which will stay in the accommodation short term. The core project is the record that the suites of teaching spaces, a conference center, and support facilities are an interior landscape bounded by a circular enclosure, an agreement intended to suggest openness, cohesion and the absence hierarchy. Externally, the walls of the direction of the disk the landscape, the long continuity and locate the access road that serves as a series of ground-level entrances. Pedestrian access to the disk is also possible through several slow ramp from various points in the landscape.
